With the rising prices of crude oil, and the shortage of natural gas resources, the black diamond "Coal" is playing a more and more important role in securing the global energy supply. Especially in China, given its special energy resources structure, coal production & consumption are hitting record high with ever booming economy.

Coal fuels Chinese prosperity, future growth; it powers the nation, and is one of most reliable energy resource in China. The sustainability of China’s coal industry depends on the ability of infrastructure to keep pace, as well as how industry and government react to global initiatives to reduce emissions. The rising oil price also encourages coal chemical industry, like the development of CTL & GTL. Though NDRC just released a report to curb the embankment of smaller scale CTL projects, it is believed that the trend will not change as long as oil price keeps at this hyped position.

With the successful closure of the first China Coal Summit 2006 in Beijing, the 2nd annual China Coal & Coal Chemical Summit 2007 will address the crucial issues coal and chemical CEOs are facing, here and now. With so much at stake, there has never been a better time to get together and discuss the future of this massive industry, specifically in the context of the whole Asia Pacific region.
